Room Mary
A royal and warm stay in orange and pink colors
The Mary room is located on the first floor on the east side. You will savor the exceptional height under ceiling, as well as a magnificent period parquet floor, luxurious fireplaces, wall fabrics as you enter from an anteroom. A living room with two armchairs and a long Empire-style sofa are at your disposal.
Adjoining the bedroom itself, you can enjoy a small accompanying lounge with seating overlooking the entire garden on the south side of the castle.
The room was named after one of the three Stephens sisters who lived at Huseby Castle in the late 19th century in Småland, southern Sweden. Miss Mary Stephens, the second sister of the three, acquired Torne Gård, a manor near the parental castle Huseby, after the death of her father in 1935. She lived there until his death in 1985. As she was the sister Maggie’s eldest child, we thought it would be a great tribute to this distinguished lady and her family to name the third bedroom in our oak house after her. In this way, we once again connect our current way of living and working with an important phase of our common past.
